Tony, Graeme, and Bruce have been fishing Twizel’s lakes, rivers, and canals for decades. Fishing with them is a chance to learn from that experience and pick up the truly unique approach that our unique waterways demand. Even if you only have an afternoon free, book in a couple of hours and have an experience like no other!

What We Offer

We are confident that we offer the best value guiding service in the area. No experience is required, and we can provide all the gear if you don’t have your own with you. All you need is an NZ fishing license for the Central South Island region (available online or in the Twizel fishing shop).

We now offer a range of guided experiences on our canals, lakes, and rivers, led by Tony, Graeme, or Bruce, who each have more years of experience than they care to admit.

Choose Your Experience

  • For those wanting to learn from the best and experience what our canals and lakes have to offer. Get in touch below to book your expert guide.

    $75 per person per hour with gear provided
    (minimum booking of 2 hours, junior license holders 50% off)

    Note: This price will increase to $90 per hour on the 1st of September to cover rising costs.

  • Whether it’s a school trip, fishing club outing, team activity, or family get together, fishing is a great opportunity for quality time entertainment. We have all the gear, so just bring yourselves and your fishing licenses.

  • Suitable for beginners or advanced fly fishers who are looking for local knowledge, get in touch with us to organise a back country fly fishing day trip.

    (Available from October 1st to April 30th)

  • Our guides have tried just about everything on Twizel’s canals, whether it’s soft plastic casting and presentation, egg fishing, lures, booby fly drifting, or just about any other technique we are happy to pass on our learnings.

  • All our guided options include gear hire, but if you want to got it alone we’ve got you sorted too.

    Hire our high quality, well maintained canal fishing or fly fishing rods for only $75 per day complete with a box of lures or flies, a net, and a map of where to go.

  • If you’d like to gift a fishing experience to someone special, we offer pre-paid vouchers at the current hourly rate - valid for 6 months.
